About this product

Youth & Lightweight Balls

The usual advice — roughly ten percent of body weight — is a starting point and nothing more. What actually decides a youth ball is whether the child can swing it freely, and whether the span fits a hand that is still growing.

A ball that is too heavy is thrown from the shoulder rather than swung, which is how young bowlers learn a bad release and how they hurt a wrist. A span drilled too wide does the same thing more quietly.

So we measure, and we say plainly when a child should be on a lighter ball than the chart suggests. We would rather sell a lighter ball this year and another one next year than one that puts a child off the sport.

FAQ

Youth & Lightweight Balls: quick answers

What is the minimum order for youth bowling balls?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
What weight should a child use?
Light enough to swing freely from the shoulder joint rather than heave. The ten-percent rule is a starting point; the real test is whether the swing stays relaxed, and we will say when the chart is wrong.
Can a ball be re-drilled as a hand grows?
Within limits, yes, and it is usually cheaper than a new ball for a year or two. We will tell you honestly when a ball has been plugged and redrilled as far as it sensibly can be.
